Radiation Therapy
Commonly used to treat cancerous or other abnormal growths, radiation therapy exposes diseased cells to radiation to destroy them. In some cases, tumors are treated with radiation alone. In others, radiation therapy can precede or follow surgery or be used in conjunction with chemotherapy to get rid of leftover tumor cells. Regardless of the type, radiation therapy at College Station Medical Center is performed by an experienced staff of radiation oncologists, radiation therapy nurses, dosimetrists and technologists dedicated to making treatment as successful as possible.
