Welcome to College Station Medical Center - the oldest healthcare facility in Bryan/College Station and the Official Healthcare Provider for Texas A&M Athletics. Known widely as The Med, our hospital provides a full array of services from maternal/fetal medicine, cardiac care to cancer care. The Med Receives Award of Excellence
Congratulations to College Station Medical Center for being awarded the Texas Health Care Quality Award of Excellence. Only 63 hospitals in the state met the criteria and were presented the Award of Excellence.
The Award (given by the TMF Health Quality Institute) honors Texas hospitals that perform quality initiatives aimed at improving outcomes in patient care by recognizing those hospitals that have improved initial baseline performance on specific national quality measures.

First robotic heart surgery performed in Brazos Valley
H. Andrew Hansen, III, MD, performed the first-ever robotic heart surgery in the Brazos Valley.
The daVinci surgical robot allowed Dr. Hansen to do Transmyocardial Revascularization (TMR) without having to open the chest, as done in traditional heart surgery.
The patient was released home within 24 hours after the operation with a minimun of scarring and recovery time. | |
