Welcome to College Station Medical Center, the oldest health care facility in Bryan/College Station and the official health care provider for Texas A&M Athletics. Known widely as The Med, College Station Medical Center is a Level III Trauma facility that provides a full array of services, including maternal/fetal medicine, cardiac care and cancer care, to College Station, Bryan, Brenham, Navasota, Buffalo, Centerville, Caldwell and surrounding areas. The Med employs more than 500 people, most of whom are your neighbors and friends. We are here to support our community with good health and the finest in health care.

	The Med is awarded the Gold Seal of Approval for Stroke Care by The Joint Commission The advanced certification as a Primary Stroke Center from The Joint Commission recognizes the hospital's commitment to the highest standards in the country for stroke care.
	The Med Earns Lab, Pathology, Respiratory Accreditation From The Joint Commission The next time a patient receives laboratory, pathology or respiratory services from the College Station Medical Center, they will have the added assurance of knowing these departments meet the highest standards in the healthcare industry. By demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission's national standards for healthcare quality and safety, the College Station Medical Center’s Laboratory, Pathology and Respiratory departments have earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval™.
	The Med Receives Award of Excellence College Station Medical Center has been awarded the Texas Health Care Quality Award of Excellence. Only 63 hospitals in the state met the criteria and were presented the Award of Excellence. The Award (given by the TMF Health Quality Institute) honors Texas hospitals that perform quality initiatives aimed at improving outcomes in patient care by recognizing those hospitals that have improved initial baseline performance on specific national quality measures.
	College Station Medical Center Earns Cycle III Chest Pain Accreditation The College Station Medical Center has received Cycle III Chest Pain accreditation from The Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care. The Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care is an international organization dedicated to the improvement of clinical processes for the early assessment, diagnosis and treatment of acute coronary syndromes such as chest pain, unstable angina and heart attack.
	First robotic heart surgery performed in Brazos Valley H. Andrew Hansen, III, MD, performed the first-ever robotic heart surgery in the Brazos Valley. The daVinci surgical robot allowed Dr. Hansen to do Transmyocardial Revascularization (TMR) without having to open the chest, as done in traditional heart surgery. The patient was released home within 24 hours after the operation with a minimun of scarring and recovery time.
	College Station Sleep Center Receives National Accreditation The College Station Sleep Center has received national accreditation from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). The accreditation distinguishes College Station Sleep Center as meeting or exceeding national quality-of-care measures for sleep disorder treatment. College Station Sleep Center was the first accredited sleep center in the Brazos Valley.
