College Station Medical Center Earns Cycle III Chest Pain Accreditation
The College Station Medical Center has received Cycle III Chest Pain accreditation from the Society of Chest Pain Centers (SCPS). SCPS is an international organization dedicated to the improvement of clinical processes for the early assessment, diagnosis and treatment of acute coronary syndromes such as chest pain, unstable angina and heart attack.

First robotic heart surgery performed in Brazos Valley
H. Andrew Hansen, III, MD, performed the first-ever robotic heart surgery in the Brazos Valley. The daVinci surgical robot allowed Dr. Hansen to do Transmyocardial Revascularization (TMR) without having to open the chest, as done in traditional heart surgery. The patient was released home within 24 hours after the operation with a minimun of scarring and recovery time.
