Safe Sitter® Moves to Monthly Classes
Students Learn Babysitting Basics at the MED
COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS (January 15, 2013) – Due to popular demand, College Station Medical Center (The MED) will offer Safe Sitter® courses for teens ages 11 and up from 9am – 5pm
Second Saturday of Every Month!
Classes will be held at the College Station Professional Building, Rm. B, 1651 Rock Prairie Rd. (across street from hospital). The deadlines to register are one week prior to the class.
More than 500,000 babysitters in the U.S. have graduated from the medically-accurate program which instills students with confidence as they learn how, why and where injuries can happen so they can be prevented. The cost of the course is $55.
Safe Sitter® students get hands-on practice in lifesaving techniques designed to prepare babysitters to act in an emergency. Babysitters also receive instruction on age-appropriate child care, how to prevent problem behavior and how to run their own babysitting business. Students also learn CPR, basic first aid and how to perform infant and child choking rescue.
Before receiving their Safe Sitter® certification, students must pass a rigorous practical and written test indicating their mastery of key concepts along with life and safety skills.
