CS Physician Receives Honor
Commission Certifies Rajesh Harrykissoon, M.D.

COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS (May 8, 2012) – The Certifying Commission in Medical Management (CCMM) has designated Dr. Rajesh Harrykissoon a Certified Physician Executive. Dr. Harrykissoon is a pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine physician at the College Station Medical Center (The MED) where he is also Chairman of the Internal Medicine Department and Co-Medical Director of the Intensive Care Unit.

CCMM awarded Dr. Harrykissoon the status of Certified Physician Executive for educational achievements, demonstrated stature as a physician, and experience in the field of medical management.

The CPE designation, used in signatory, indicates that a physician has achieved superior levels of professional excellence and management education, while also demonstrating effective knowledge and leadership skills. The Certifying Commission in Medical Management currently lists more that 1,000 Certified Physician Executives.

Dr. Harrykissoon is the director of the College Station Sleep Center, the region’s only accredited sleep center. He is board certified in internal medicine specializing in pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine. He also serves as Assistant Clinical Professor at Texas A&M Health Science Center. Dr. Harrykissoon is the only fellowship trained sleep medicine specialist in the Brazos Valley. He received his fellowship training at the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. His experience includes time and practice as a general practitioner and specialty consultant.

The national certifying body for physicians specializing in medical management, the Certifying Commission in Medical Management is a not-for-profit corporation chartered by the American College of Physician Executives (ACPE) to establish and maintain the high standards required for physician executive certification. The ACPE is the nation’s largest organization of physicians in health care leadership. The College is recognized by the American Medical Association as the specialty society representing physicians in management and holds a seat in the AMA House of Delegates.
