During your hospital stay, we are committed to maintaining a clean and quiet environment. We have policies and procedures in place to help you and your family work with our doctors, nurses, and staff to get the most from your stay. Please take a few minutes to review these guidelines with your loved ones.

Public Restrooms

Please do not use the bathrooms in patient rooms. They are reserved only for patients in order to protect their health. Public restrooms are located throughout the hospital.

Telephone

Telephones are provided in all patient rooms. To place a local call, dial 9, followed by the number.

Fire Safety

We periodically conduct fire drills. If you hear an alarm, stay where you are. In the event of an actual emergency, hospital staff will notify you.

Wireless Internet Service

We offer free wireless internet service in all areas of the hospital, including the patient rooms. They simply choose Hospital Guest Wireless connection and accept the terms and conditions. A Password is not required. If assistance is needed, they can call our IS Help Desk at 764-5144.

Electrical Appliances

We recommend that all electrical appliances are kept at home. If you bring in any electrical appliances such as a hair dryer or razor, the nursing staff will notify the hospital Plant Operations department in order for an electrical check to be performed on that item. The following items are strictly prohibited: portable heaters, electric pads, electric blankets, candles, scented plugs-ins and cooking appliances.

Mail and Flowers

Mail and packages will be delivered to you by a hospital volunteer. Individual florists deliver flowers to patient rooms. Please note that flowers are prohibited in intensive care units. Any mail received after your discharge will be forwarded to the your home address. Outgoing mail may be taken to the nursing station or given to your attending nurse. Postage stamps are available in the gift shop.

Where’s the Cafeteria?

Location: First floor of the hospital between the Main Lobby and 1602 Rock Prairie Rd. East Medical office Building. Visitors are welcome to dine in the cafeteria. Hours: Breakfast 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. Lunch 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Vending Machines

Vending machines offering beverages, fresh foods and pre-packaged snacks are connected to the café. They are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You may also find vending machines located in the emergency room lobby and surgery lobby.

Gift Shop

The hospital’s gift shop is located on the first floor in the main lobby of the hospital. The proceeds from the gift shop are donated back to the hospital through the Volunteer Auxiliary to assist the needs of our patients. Cash, check and credit cards accepted.

Hours of Operation: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Saturday

Pastoral Care

The hospital Chaplain and a group of volunteer ministers are available to all patients and their families. Please contact your nurse to request these services. A chapel is located off the main lobby on the first floor of the hospital.

Visiting Hours

General - 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Maternity - 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. No children under 12 permitted except siblings of newborns

Critical Care Units - Immediate family only 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. 1:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. 8:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Inpatient Rehabilitation

4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Smoke Free Campus

Smoking and/or the use of any tobacco products is not permitted anywhere in the hospital or on hospital grounds.

Leave Your Valuables At Home

If you have valuables, such as jewelry and cash, please give them to a relative or friend to take care of during your stay. Contact lenses, eyeglasses, hearing aids, and dentures should be stored in your bedside stand when not in use. Please don’t put them on your bed or food tray— they may be damaged or lost. College Station Medical Center cannot be responsible for replacement of personal belongings.

Lost and Found

Lost and found is located in the administration office on the first floor of the hospital near the main lobby. You may contact the administration office for lost and found items at 979-764-5216.
