Message from the CEO

Tom Jackson, CEOThroughout the year, we stayed focused on our mission by investing in our employees, focusing on our quality outcomes (www.hospitalcompare.hhs.gov/) and working closely with the leadership of our Board of Trustees and medical staff.  As a result, we experienced great success.  One of the more notable advancements was the continued advancement of our cardiovascular program and specifically the treatment of peripheral vascular disease.  Another advancement was the opening of our Neonatal ICU and the expansion of our Women’s Pavilion, one of the most significant developments in our region in recent years.  Today, families no longer have to travel out of town to find a Level III intensive care unit for newborns.  We also continued to develop our emergency department, offering you some of the most well trained physicians and nurses anywhere. One of our main priorities was the timeliness of your visit.

The introduction of the da Vinci S Surgical System to the Brazos Valley was an investment in perhaps the most advanced minimally invasive surgical technology found anywhere in the world. Whether you are facing prostate surgery, a gynecologic procedure, or heart surgery, the da Vinci S Surgical System may offer your surgeon new technology to minimize the invasiveness of your surgery and enhance your return to an active lifestyle. With over 45% of all radical prostatectomies in America now being performed utilizing the da Vinci Surgical System and the accelerated acceptance of this new technology among gynecologists, we have listened to several local surgeons and acquired this new technology for our community.

If you have traveled by College Station Medical Center lately, I am sure you have noticed the developing medical corridor on the intersecting boulevards of Rock Prairie, Longmire and Birmingham.  It’s eye catching even to the most hurried driver.  Several new medical services can now be accessed in-and-around our hospital.  From the medical office building owned by BCS Heart to an expanding outpatient clinic owned by the Veteran’s Administration to the Brazos Valley Blood Center next door, our medical campus is becoming an increasing one-stop destination for your healthcare needs.

We are continuing to work hard to be your local hospital of choice.  Whether it’s a diagnostic procedure, the birth of your child, or an outpatient or inpatient medical or surgical stay, we want to be your preferred hospital.  We are making continued investments to improve your health. We are very grateful for your interest and support.

Warm Regards,

Tom Jackson
